The bare minimum - Part 1: 95%
Take this analogy,
If you were told that your phone's battery percentage is to stay above 95% all the time and the authorities will conduct a random check once to see if that's the case for everyone, and if yours is found to be less than that, you're thrown to jail for the rest of your life, wouldn't you do everything to ensure that your phone's battery percentage won't go below 95%.
You would have no excuse at all as to why your battery charge is below the said percentage. Why is that so? Because electricity is everywhere. Because every phone came with its own charger. If not, then who said you can't borrow a charger. If at all you don't have access to electricity then there are charging stations where you could take your phone to be charged. So it means that it's totally on you if the authorities come to check and find your battery's percentage and find that it's below 95%. Since the authorities have taken so long without coming to conduct their check up, people now start to be lenient and start to leave the batteries to run below the said percentage. And when they are asked why they are doing so, they start to say that "The authorities have taken too long, they probably won't even show up"...others say,"That's a dumb thing to do; to come and check to see if my battery's percentage is above 95% and if not, throw me to jail"
So then what happens the day when the authorities decide to conduct their check up? Without warning, people will be caught off-guard. Some people's phones would be running on battery low and others will be long dead. For others, they would have tried keeping the charge above 50% but still they would be thrown in. Others who would have tried fairly enough to keep it above 80% would think that they would be given a pass but still they would be thrown in. Then there are those who kept their charge above 90% but still they won't make it. They will try to plead and ask," But it's at 91%"...."it's at 92%"...."it's at 93%"...."Look! Mine's at 94%"
But still they would be thrown in and they would be told that the extreme minimum allowed was 95%. "You lawbreakers! Stop your pleading. You were not faithful to keep your charge above 95%" How terrible will it be for all those who were thrown to jail. It's not that they were not aware of the set guidelines. It's not that they didn't know that the authorities would come. They were all fully aware of the set rules and the repercussions and now they will spend the rest of their lives locked away and without the phones!
To those who were faithfull to keep their battery's percentage above 95%, will be commended and will be congratulated. They will also be given new phones which will never run out of their battery charge and they will also get to enjoy their freedom and they will live happily knowing that they made their masters proud!
Be wise and understand what is required of you!
