The bare minimum - Part 2:Holiness

Isaiah 1:19-20

"If you are willing and obedient,

you will eat the good things of the land;

but if you resist and rebel,

you will be devoured by the sword.”

For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.

Meaning that yes you can be saved but if you don't obey what God has instructed us to do then we won't escape. God is the one who has called us to live holy lives. He has called us to repent and turn away from sin. If we do not obey what God has told us to do then we become rebels. We are not sinners but rebels. And the word of God says that both will be slain by the sword. A people that have been saved and call themselves christians but still go on living in sin, That is the fallen church. The adulterous church that is engaging with the things of the world. This fallen church will not be taken up during rapture! It is the holy church that has separated itself from the world and from sin which will get to go to heaven during rapture.

In that word of scripture that says….'they will say, didn't we perform miracles in your name, But Jesus will tell them get away from me you workers of iniquity'....This clearly shows that these people were anointed people, they were christians, they even cast demons out in the name of Jesus, but they didn't live holy lives and that's why Jesus says He never knew them and he calls them wicked people. Someone may say that they know Christ. But I think we should ask ourselves if Jesus really knows us!

People should fear God. If you are saved and you don't live holy lives then that means that the fear of God is not in you. We should fear God because He is the one with the ability to kill and throw to hell. it's not that those who aren't saved haven't heard about the love of God or His Grace, His kindness, mercy etc. The fact is that they do not value God anymore. They have rejected Jesus. They have refused to come to Him. It's a choice they make. The same way one can choose to follow Jesus is also the same way one can choose not to follow Jesus. Time is running out and if they have refused to listen about the kindness and the love and the grace of God, Then they will listen about His wrath and judgement, His anger and fury! and they will repent and turn away from sin. This goes to everybody, saved and not saved alike. Even the church of Christ is engaging in sin and corruption. God is just. And He sees everything!

The church is being lied to. The church is being deceived. They are preaching this 'sweet Jesus' who doesn't judge. Who accepts you the way you are. The truth is that Jesus says "Come as you are, but do not stay as you are!"...That is why we have the word and the Holy Spirit who will transform us from the inside out until we mature to the full stature of Christ Jesus. If you say that a person who is saved does not need to live a Holy life, then that nullifies the whole point of being a christian. Christians are supposed to reflect Christ in everything. Christians are disciples of Christ. The word of God says that Christ was without sin! That He was holy and perfect in every single way. If Christ is our Lord and saviour, then aren't we supposed to emulate His nature and become more like Him. We have to take these things with alot of seriousness knowing that God is almighty and He is supreme over all. He gave us the word so that we may obey every single word that is written there. That we may obey His word. His word is our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ. God who made all creation and commanded the sun to rise each morning and set each evening is the same God who created us. If the sun obeys the word of God, then who are we not to!
