Prayer

I have been in relationships where communication was a big challenge. I can admit it didn't end well. You see, communication is key to every relationship for it goes both ways for the mutual benefit of those involved in the relationship.

Now as christians, we have a relationship with our father, our God.

And the question is:

How often do you speak to Him? How often do you tell Him what's bothering you? How often do you pray?

The truth is that God is always speaking to us. In fact He is speaking to you now as you're reading this for he uses all means in the world to speak to you. The obvious and the most distinct way he uses to speak to us is through His word! He also uses people;his people to speak to us, among other ways.

Ephesians 6:18

Do this all in prayer, asking for God's help. Pray on every occasion as the spirit leads. For this reason keep alert and never give up;pray always for all God's people.

Philippians 4:6

Don't worry about anything, but in all your prayers ask God for what you need, always asking him with a thankful heart

Prayer is how us who are born of God communicate with our father. And we also ought to know how to pray.

Jesus our LORD taught us how to pray when he prayed the LORD' s prayer.

Matthew 6:9-13

Then this is how you should pray:

Our father in heaven: may your holy name be honored; may your kingdom come; may your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today the food we need. Forgive us of the wrongs we have done ,as we forgive the wrongs that others have done to us.

Do not bring us to hard testing but keep us safe from the Evil one.

1. We should first exalt the father and acknowledge his glory and his majesty.

2. Then ask for his will upon your life to be done hear on earth as it is in heaven;

Proverbs 16:1

We may make our plans but God has the last word.

3. Ask for his providence:He is your father and he will provide.

Matthew 6:31

So don't start worrying 'where will my food come from? Or my drink? Or my clothes? Your father in heaven knows that you need all these things.

4. Ask for the forgiveness of your sins and also forgive others!

5. Pray that you may be kept safe from the evil one:

Ephesians 6:12

For we are not fighting against human beings but against the wicked spiritual forces in the heavenly world, the rulers, authorities and cosmic powers of this dark age.

Pray at all times and on every occasion for it is you communicating with your maker and asking him all that you need and also giving thanks and praising and worshiping his Holy and precious name.

Remember, he is always speaking to us...open your heart to receive him and you will commune with him.
